Technics SL-5 Direct Drive Automatic Turntable System
$295.00 · Item #718
This is a Technics SL-5 direct-drive fully automatic turntable system housed in a compact silver-finished cabinet. It features a linear-tracking tonearm integrated into the underside of the smoked transparent dust cover, designed to maintain tangential tracking across the record surface. The die-cast platter retains its black concentric-ribbed rubber mat, and an installed phono cartridge with a green stylus housing is fitted to the tonearm carriage. Control functions along the front edge include an off/on power switch as well as push buttons for repeat, cueing, start, and stop. The clear dust cover shows visible surface scuffing, light scratches, and dust accumulation. Introduced by Technics in the early 1980s, the SL-5 utilizes a brushless DC direct-drive motor and the standardized T4P P-mount cartridge format.
